About Cissi Efraimsson
Cissi Efraimsson is a Swedish, Los Angeles-based stop-motion animation director, writer, and artist. Working across animation, painting, ceramic sculpture, and music, she creates tactile, handcrafted worlds populated by folklore-inspired creatures and eccentric characters.
Efraimsson’s work combines bold colors, dark humor, and playful storytelling, exploring the meeting point between fantasy and everyday life. Her surreal worlds draw from folklore, mythology, and contemporary culture.
Her work includes the short films Sea Angels (2024) and My Ex Boyfriend (2021), music videos for The Hives, Viagra Boys, and Upchuck, as well as projects for IKEA and Adult Swim. Sea Angels premiered on Swedish national television and has toured internationally on the festival circuit.
